How to audit the group...
Your first four workshops
consist of sitting in the theatre and listening.
After
that, you will be asked to write a paragraph and present
it -- something about yourself that's true -- for up to five
minutes, preferably
your most embarrassing/degrading/humiliating moment. Kind
of an initiation thing.
After that, you are free to
contribute constructive notes to the author up on stage.
When
you're up, bring enough copies for actors/writers to read
with their parts highlighted in yellow (if there are
a lot of characters, actors/writers can read multiple roles).
Dues
is $15/month, payable in advance the first Wednesday of each
month.
The Writer's Group meets on Wednesdays between
7-10 p.m. (with a break around 8:30) at the Two Roads Theatre,
located at 4348 Tujunga Ave, Studio City, CA 91604. It's
between Ventura Blvd and Moorpark Ave, south (towards the hills) of Aroma Cafe on the east
side of Tujunga (and next to Caioti
Cafe).
There
is parking in the back of the theatre (sometimes), and a
parking lot off the alley at Woodbridge (just east of
Tujunga).
